“I appreciate being given a chance to be a leader, and I hope to lead the people of this community in the right way.”
Through land, women contribute a lot to the community. They look after animals, farm, fetch water, collect firewood, prepare milk for the children, care for their husbands, and do many other things.
Land-use planning helps the community decide on grazing areas, schools, health facilities, churches, and settlements. It’s an excellent way to manage the land. With women’s inclusion in the meetings and decision-making processes, resources are now distributed equally.
It’s important for women to have models of other women in leadership roles. As a leader, you will be respected and followed by the people, and even men will respect you. Women have a lot to contribute to the community, especially as mothers who understand the importance of guiding children in the right direction.
I appreciate IMPACT for the excellent job they are doing for our community.
“Now, with the Community Land Act, women are included, participate in the community, and have power in every decision made about land.”
“The transition from group ranch to community land has been crucial for women's empowerment.”
