IMPACT Kenya Strategic Plan 2023–2027

Strategic Plan 2023-2027

The IMPACT-SP-2023-27 presents IMPACT Kenya’s five-year strategic vision for advancing the rights, well-being, and self-determination of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs) across Northern Kenya. The strategy is grounded in over two decades of community-led advocacy and outlines a comprehensive framework for securing communal land rights, strengthening policy influence, promoting sustainable livelihoods, preserving Indigenous knowledge, and fostering peaceful collaboration across shared landscapes.

The publication highlights IMPACT Kenya’s achievements in supporting community land registration, building social movements and alliances, promoting peacebuilding, and influencing policy reforms affecting Indigenous communities. It also sets ambitious targets for expanding community land registration, strengthening local governance systems, enhancing climate resilience, documenting Indigenous Traditional Knowledge, and increasing Indigenous participation in decision-making at local, national, and global levels.

Serving as both a roadmap and a commitment, this strategic plan demonstrates IMPACT Kenya’s dedication to creating a secure, just, and inclusive society where Indigenous Peoples can protect their lands, sustain their cultures, strengthen their livelihoods, and shape the policies that affect their futures.
