In his early years, Raphael Lenaruti worked with Samburu County under the department of Agriculture as a community mobilizer for groups supporting crop production.

In 2018, he joined the IMPACT as a paralegal worker to help communities in Samburu County complete their land registration procedures as stipulated in the Community Land Act, 2016. He coordinates with Samburu County officials and community leaders in matters concerning community land.

Raphael believes in strengthening Indigenous communities and setting them on a path towards self-reliance through capacity-building initiatives. Using a modern approach, he seeks to facilitate transformative change within Indigenous communities by ensuring that their voices are heard, recognized and respected.
