CLAN! is an informal network of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities, Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), and Non-Governmental Organizations in Kenya. Established in 2018, CLAN! shares knowledge and builds solidarity to tackle multiple land and natural resources-related issues, particularly formalizing community land rights.
With over 130 Indigenous community groups, CLAN! enables rural communities and CBOs to legally own their ancestral lands under the Community Land Act. This legislation, alongside the Kenyan Constitution, recognizes community lands as a distinct property class, granting them equal legal force and effect as private and public property.
As a founding member, IMPACT is crucial in this transformative movement, supporting CLAN!’s mission to secure land rights for Indigenous peoples and local communities in Kenya.
Stand in solidarity with Indigenous peoples for land rights, sustainable livelihoods, and cultural preservation.
