Kulamo Bullo-Ikimire

Ms. Kulamo was born and brought up in Rendille land among the pastoralist community of Kargi Ward, Marsabit County. With rampant early marriages and little consideration for girls to go to school in the pastoralist community, she is privileged to have gone to school and further completed primary school and proceeded to other institutions for further studies. Kulamo holds a Bachelor of Education degree in English/Literature and a Masters degree in Communications.

Coming from this background, she uses every opportunity to advocate for education for Pastoralist girls through mentorship programs in local schools and linking them up with other opportunities to keep them in school, she also supports learning  by providing reading materials to school libraries and through resource mobilization.

Kulamo is very passionate about education as she believe it is one investment that will impact communities and contribute to transformation in pastoral livelihoods. She firmly believes in justice and fairness and has continued to advocate for the rights of communities in registering community lands. While serving as the CECM Lands in Marsabit County She steered the FCDC Land Sector Forum, that pushed for counties within the FCDC cluster to prioritize registration of community lands. She is still in this space to make sure that this agenda is attended to in the best way possible.
