James Mema is a graduate of the University of Nairobi with a bachelor of science in range lands management. His interest lies in environmental conservation and integration of both human and wildlife.
His career began at Ol Pejeta conservancy where he actively engaged in monitoring the population dynamics of selecting endangered species under the ecological department. He also worked with the community department where he was able to lead talks with the community on grazing plans, as well as collecting data on peoples’ perspectives on conservation around the conservancy.
James joined IMPACT as an environmental peace fellow, gathering information concerning climate, environmental change, peace, conflict and the impact of COVID -19 ,He was later promoted to a Natural Resource Management project officer.
