Lucy Lemaikai  is a Communications Officer at IMPACT Kenya, working closely with communities across rangeland landscapes to document and tell the stories behind the work. Her role goes beyond communication—she is part of the process, capturing moments, conversations, and shifts as they unfold on the ground. 

Through both writing and photography, she focuses on telling stories that are honest and grounded. She uses visual storytelling to capture images that reflect lived realities, moments that carry meaning, context, and emotion, rather than just activity. 

Her work is rooted in participatory approaches, ensuring that community voices, local knowledge, and experiences are not just included, but centered. From community dialogues to restoration sites, she documents the collective efforts shaping more resilient landscapes. 

Lucy is particularly interested in how communication can bridge the gap between community processes and wider audiences, making complex work accessible without losing its depth.
