Mr. James L. Matunge serves as a Project Officer within the Land, Environment and Climate Department, where he leads vital community mobilization and community land protection initiatives. Driven by deep belief that sustainable change is only possible when local communities are at the forefront of the solution, Mr. James focuses on building strong partnerships with community leaders to drive grassroots empowerment. He is dedicated to ensuring that those most connected to the land have a primary voice in its conservation, protection, and management. 

His work is grounded in the core values of collaboration and accountability, ensuring that every project from securing land rights to building climate resilience is approached with a community first mindset. James finds his greatest motivation in working directly with communities on the ground to create lasting change as they incorporate indigenous traditional knowledge to the modern solutions. When the laptop finally closes, James shifts his focus from the field to the pitch. He is an avid football player and a dedicated supporter for Manchester United.
