Strengthening Sustainable Pastoralism

PARAAN unites diverse pastoralist institutions and organizations to develop leadership, engage stakeholders, and promote sustainable practices. As a founding member and secretariat, IMPACT supports PARAN in securing land rights, building climate resilience, and advancing community-based natural resource management.

What We Do

Enhance peace and cohesion
Promoting structured intra- and intercommunity dialogue, as well as amplifying Indigenous voices at all levels of decision making

Secure access to land and resources
Supporting pastoralists through the land tenure process and facilitating community-based resource management

Create vibrant grassroots movements
Helping members to mobilize alliances and networks across diverse communities and geographies

Founding Members

The alliance was founded by a group of five key partners. Currently it has 48 members.
