Our Work

IMPACT is a collective force championing Indigenous rights and self-determination. We secure communal land tenure, promote inclusive policies and decision-making processes, foster sustainable livelihoods and ecosystems, safeguard traditional wisdom, and cultivate partnerships across shared landscapes in northern Kenya.

Protecting Indigenous Land and Resource Rights

Our goal is to ensure legally recognized land and resource rights. This involves advocating for a streamlined, accessible process to formalize communal land rights, empowering Indigenous stewardship and self-determination. We also facilitate community litigations on land and environment-related cases.
Inclusive Laws and Policies

Empowering Community-Led Policy Reform

We advocate for equitable representation in shaping legal and political frameworks through community-led policy reform. This collaborative approach ensures governance structures align with the expectations and goals of Indigenous peoples at all levels. Additionally, we actively promote and support the implementation of pro-Indigenous and pastoralist policies locally and nationally.

Strengthening Community Institutions,
Empowering Women

We enhance economic resilience through diversified, sustainable livelihoods. Our efforts focus on empowering women, promoting Indigenous stewardship of natural resources, and strengthening community institutions. These initiatives help communities adapt and thrive in their ecosystems.

Preserving Indigenous Wisdom Through Research and Knowledge Management

Protecting and integrating Indigenous wisdom into land management is essential to our approach. This helps preserve ecosystems and cultural heritage. We facilitate community-driven research to inform advocacy and scale up interventions.

Fostering Peaceful Coexistence

We bolster local and global relations to enhance Indigenous learning, representation, and peaceful coexistence across shared landscapes.

Together, we make an impact.

Stand in solidarity with Indigenous peoples for land rights, sustainable livelihoods, and cultural preservation.
