Ministry of Environment Appreciates IMPACT Kenya's Support for the 2026 Global Observance of Desertification and Drought Day

IMPACT Kenya has received formal appreciation from the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry through the State Department for Environment and Climate Change for its contribution to the successful hosting of the 2026 Global Observance of the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought. 

Hosted in Kilifi County on 17 June 2026 in partnership with the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), the event brought global attention to the importance of restoring and protecting rangelands and combating land degradation. 

The Ministry recognized IMPACT Kenya’s support and partnership in helping deliver a successful international event that elevated discussions on environmental sustainability, climate resilience, and ecosystem restoration. 

The appreciation demonstrates IMPACT Kenya’s continued leadership and commitment to promoting sustainable rangeland management, environmental conservation, and climate action at local, national, and international levels.
